How sanitation marketing helps small businesses
People often ask us why we take a marketing approach. In other words, why do we enable the sale of toilets instead of giving them away for free? Here is one of the reasons why.
With our sanitation marketing program we work closely with about 170 local businesses. One of them is Kun Vantheoun and his wife Heang in Kampong Cham.
In 2012, the couple was struggling to make ends meet. Heang was a garment worker and Vantheoun worked in construction. Their small concrete business was close to failing. Back then, Vantheoun business capital included one ring mould and one motorcycle. That’s it.
